Blossom Software
We use a Nursery Management Software system called Blossom here at Lord Williams’s School Day Nursery. This provides information about your child through a mobile app with the key features being:
- Real-time updates: The Blossom Parent App provides live updates on your child’s day, including sleep, meals, and nappy changes.
- Child development: View photos and videos of your child’s activities, and see “Golden Moments” or observations logged by nursery staff.
- Two-way communication: Share your own observations, photos, and videos of your child’s progress at home, which the nursery can use to plan activities.
- Child information: See your child’s schedule, key person, and other important information. You can also update their routine, likes, and dislikes, which will sync with the nursery.
- Financial management: View invoices, pay nursery fees, and check payment history directly through the app.
- Communication tools: The app allows you to receive newsletters and push notifications from the nursery. You can also contact the nursery directly through the app.
- Home activities: Explore a range of activities on the app to do with your child at home.
You will be given a unique username and password giving you access to Blossom.
Blossom takes its security measures very seriously. To ensure complete safeguarding, Blossom are compliant with OFSTED regulations and registered with the Data Protection Act. Their servers are hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS), which are in the European Environment Agency (EEA).

AWS includes broad security certification and accreditation, data encryption at rest and in-transit, hardware security modules and strong physical security. AWS is used by many of the largest conglomerates in the world including banks. Your data is stored and backed up frequently on cloud-based secured servers so it can never be lost. Only authorised staff have access to our Blossom Educational account. All passwords are encrypted so only you as parents and us as your child’s
nursery have access to it.
In the case of your child leaving your setting, we can move them into an ‘archived’ area. Data can be permanently deleted on your request. If you explicitly ask us to then Blossom will delete your data immediately. In some cases, some data may remain in backups until those backups are rotated. What is also important, all backups are fully encrypted and it is not possible to read them anywhere apart from the AWS RDS server
(RDS – database service on AWS).
