Complaints Procedure

Statement of Intent

Lord Williams’s School Day Nursery believes that children and parents are entitled to expect courtesy and prompt, careful attention to their needs and wishes. We welcome suggestions on how to improve our setting and will give prompt and serious attention to any concerns about the running of the setting. We anticipate that most concerns will be resolved quickly by an informal approach to the appropriate member of staff. If this does not achieve the desired result, we have a set of procedures for dealing with concerns.

Aim

We aim to bring all concerns about the running of our setting to a satisfactory conclusion for all parties involved.

Methods

To achieve this, we operate the following complaints procedure. The nursery is required to keep a ‘summary log’ of all complaints that reach stage 4 or beyond. This is to be made available to parents as well as to Ofsted inspectors.

  • Stage 1 Voice your complaint to your child’s Key Worker
  • Stage 2 Voice your complaint to the Nursery Manager
  • Stage 3 Voice your complaint to the Chair of the Management Committee
  • Stage 4 If not addressed to your satisfaction, put your complaint in writing to the Nursery Manager/Chair

Behaviour Management Policy

Statement of Intent

Lord Williams’s School Day Nursery believes that children flourish best when their personal, social and emotional needs are met and where there are clear and developmentally appropriate expectations for their behaviour.

Aim

We aim to teach children to behave in socially acceptable ways and to understand the needs and rights of others. The principles guiding management of behaviour exist within the programme for supporting personal, social and emotional development.

Methods

The Nursery Manager has overall responsibility for our programme for supporting personal, social and emotional development, including issues concerning behaviour. Parents are regularly informed about their children’s behaviour by their key person and we aim to work in partnership with you to resolve any issues.
