Meet The Team

Sonjia Nicholson

Nursery Manager

Hello, my name is Sonjia Nicholson and I am the Manager here at Lord Williams’s School Day Nursery. I have worked in the early years sector for all of my career and have held various positions, including an Early Years Assessor and Ofsted Early Years Inspector although at heart I consider myself to be a Nursery Practitioner as I love to be with the children and watch them learn and develop. I hold a Level 6 qualification and I am also the nursery’s Designated Safeguarding Lead and Special Educational Needs Coordinator.

When I’m not at work I love spending time with my family and taking my Jack Russell Terrier Bobby for walks.

Bekka Spiers

Deputy Nursery Manager

Hello, my name is Bekka and I am the Deputy Manager at Lord Williams’s School Day Nursery. I have worked here since March 2015 and have 19 years’ experience of working in a day nursery, mostly with children under 2 years. I am a qualified Childcare Assessor and hold my level 3 Childcare qualification and a level 4 certificate in Management.

When I’m not at nursery I enjoy exploring new places in the Cotswold’s and visiting my family in Cornwall. My passion at the nursery is to give children the best possible care in a fun learning environment.

Honour Bell

Senior Nursery Practitioner

Hi, my name is Honour and I have worked at Lord Williams’s School Day Nursery for since Sept 2017. I work in the Toddlers and Pre-school room but have had experience in the Baby Room too. When I first started here, I was an apprentice working towards my qualification and now I’m now Level 3 qualified and Senior Nursery Practitioner.

In my free time I enjoy going to the gym and socialising with my friends.

Hollie Thomas

Nursery Practitioner

Hi there! I am Hollie and I have worked at Lord Williams’s School Day Nursery since May 2016 and in childcare for 11 years prior to this. I hold a level 3 qualification and have experience as a Room Leader here before taking time off to have my own child. I now work part-time as a Nursery Practitioner on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and my daughter attends on the same days. When I’m not at nursery I love family time and spending time with our pet dog and pony!

Macy Gurdon

Nursery Practitioner

Hello, my name is Macy. I am level 3 qualified and have worked at Lord Williams’s School Day Nursery since March 2020. Before working here I worked for a childcare agency where I worked in lots of different nurseries including Lord Williams’s School Day Nursery so have in fact I been coming here since September 2019!

I have wanted to work with children from a young age and have been really enjoying it! I am a fun and carefree person who loves to laugh. Outside of nursery I enjoy socializing and spending time with my family and dogs. I look forward to working with your child and seeing them develop during their time at nursery.

Jo Dutton

Nursery Practitioner

My name is Jo. I am level 3 qualified and have worked in many positions since qualifying. I have been within the childcare sector for 25 years and worked at Lord Williams’s School Day Nursery for 10 years now. I work school hours 3 days a week so often do not get to introduce myself to parents, so “Hello, it’s nice to meet you”.

When I’m not at work, I have 3 of my own children to look after. I also like being creative, baking cakes, painting pebbles or making things for my children. We love going on adventures and days out whether it’s to the seaside, the zoo or to watch the sunset. I feel it’s important to make lots of memories and I try to express this in my work at the nursery too.

I also enjoy reading, spending time with my large family, shopping, and gardening.

Danielle Edwards

Nursery Practitioner

Hello, I’m Danielle and I have worked in several childcare settings since 2014. I started off as an apprentice and have gained my level 2 childcare qualification but I need to gain my maths functional skills before I am fully level 3 qualified.

I really enjoy working with children and watching them grow and develop and although I have a rare skeletal disorder which means I am only 4 foot tall this does not affect my passion, skills and ability to work with them.

Sam Pearce

Nursery Practitioner

Hello. My name is Sam and I have worked at Lord Williams’s School Day Nursery since May 2012. I have over 15 years experience in early years with babies and toddlers and have gained my level 3 qualification. I have always worked full-time and was Baby Room Leader until I went on maternity leave in December 2018 to have my little girl. When I returned to work, I reduced my days to 3 per week and became a Nursery Practitioner. When I’m not working, I love spending time with my daughter and family, having trips out, going camping and seeing friends.

Cassie Rawlings

Nursery Apprentice

My name is Cassie Rawlings and I started work at Lord Williams’s School Day Nursery in July 2022. I am currently undertaking my Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship. I am currently based in the Toddler and Pre-School Room and enjoy being a key person to a small group of children. When I’m not at work I enjoy socialising, going to the cinema and shopping.

Caroline Eele

Nursery Cook

I am Caroline Eele and I am the Nursery Cook with over 30 years’ experience in catering. I prepare all meals on-site for the children but still enjoy cooking for my family at home. When I’m not working I enjoy caring for my great grandchildren, sewing, walking, fishing and looking after my chickens and sheep.

My name is Maz Hubbard and I am the nursery’s Lunchtime Supervisor and Housekeeper. I have worked here at the nursery for over 2 years and really enjoy the variety of jobs my role involves.
